What about advertising?
American Realty Group does random advertising throughout the year. The Leads generated from office advertising will be given to Agents on a rotating schedule. However, Agents are encouraged to do their own advertising too.
What about signs?
You are responsible for purchasing your own signs. Information on how to order signs will be forwarded to you after you join the office. To purchase one sign the cost is approximately $58. The sign will have your name and number with the office number smaller at the bottom. You must have the office number on your sign.
What about business cards?
You can order cards from whomever you want to or you can use the company that the other agents mainly use. Your business cards will specify your number as the main contact number for you and will designate the office number as "Broker" or will be labeled office as the LAST number.
What do I do when I get a listing or put a home under contract?
Immediately you will fax or mail a copy of the contract to the office for the office file. You must keep the office updated with all amendments, etc on each client.
How will I get paid?
When you send a purchase contract to the office a CDA will then be sent to the title company and you will be paid by the title company at closing. There are not extra forms to fill out.
What does the Broker do for me?
The broker works as a non-compete broker. That means that their time is devoted to your needs. They are not busy with their own clients and can devote their time to helping you make the most of your business. The broker devotes their work week to finding ways and encouraging your business to grow.
What about office meetings?
We do not have formal office meetings. We do, once a month, meet somewhere social for networking purposes and so that agents have a sense of belonging to a team of people.
All important information from the office is communicated via email. You must check your email daily.
Is there an office?
No, there is not a formal office setting but more a virtual office.
What if I am a new agent?
We do accept new agents on a limited basis. Because of training purposes we only have so many new agents at one time. Contact us for more information on availability of space.
What Board will I be a member of?
You will have to join the MetroTex Association of Realtors. If you are currently with another board you will be required to switch. The MetroTex Association has 7 office locations in the metroplex. www.dfwrealtors.com
Do I have flexibility in listing commissions?
Yes, as long as your are working in the best interest of your seller you are free to list at whatever percentage you wish.
Will I be provided with leads?
When leads come in, they will be given to Agents on a rotating schedule and based upon agent participation. However, you are responsible for pursuing your own business leads. Any calls or emails that come into the office are forwarded.
What about training?
We do not offer formal training classes as other larger companies do BUT we do have a more individualized training structure. We do mock closings, listings, etc. Also- we offer one on one time training for whatever it is you need help with, rather then holding a large class on something you've already conquered.
What if I only work real estate part time?
Our goal is to have an office full of agents committed ot the service of their clients. If a client needs to speak with you during the day but you are busy at a 9 to 5 job during the day then this doesn't suit our philosophy. However, we do accept certain circumstances for new agents who are getting started and have part time jobs- or for people who own different companies but have full time availability. Availability is the most crucial point in this decision.
I'm ready to join. What do I do next?
You must schedule an in person interview with Daisy. All agents are interviewed in person. Just as you would want to meet the broker you would be dealing with, we want to know who is out there representing our name. At that time, if a decision is made, you can sign the TREC transfer form, so will the broker, and once it is mailed (and you have given written notice to your current broker) you can start working under the American Realty Group name.
